Printing slides

Most (soon all the lecture notes) will be available in HTML so they can be viewed in Netscape and viewed and printed in Lynx.

Printing of Powerpoint slides

This can be done in three ways:

From VAX/VMS

List the files in the directory:

	$ dir disk$pc:[pcsa.winpublic.inform.1it113]
Select the file you want to print, one of the .PS files, for example, 01_intro.ps and print it:

	$ print/que=lps20_ps disk$pc:[pcsa.winpublic.inform.1it113]01_intro.ps
The /que qualifier specifies the queue to which the file is sent for printing, sending a file to the wroong queue may not result in it being printed.

From MS-DOS

list the files in the directory:

	M:\> dir a:\inform\1it113
select the file you want to print, one of the .PS files, for example, 01_intro.ps and print it:

	M:\> copy a:\inform\1it113\01_intro.ps lpt2:

From MS-Windows

Use File Manager to list the files in the directory a:\inform\1it113.

Select the file you want to print, one of the .PS files, for example, 01_intro.ps. Before you can print it you must “associate” it with an application.

The only application which will print Postscript files is a:\gsview\gsview.exe which you may wish to install as a new icon in Windows. Ghostview also allows you to view PostScript files.

Warnings

You cannot print .PPT files. Trying to do so might damage your printer quota!

Printing in other ways from those specified above might work or might generate pages of spurious output.
